We invite you to experience the extraordinary adventure of following THE INDUSTRIAL MONUMENTS ROUTE OF THE SILESIAN VOIVODESHIP. The trail comprises 31 selected facilities of exceptional historic and architectural interest, which in the previous centuries were milestones of industrial revolution. Industrialisation that began in the 18th century changed the face of Silesia. The towers of mine shafts and foundry furnaces and later power station chimneys became a permanent feature of the landscape. A reminder of those times are the numerous industrial monuments scattered across the whole region. The creation of the Route displays their attraction to tourists.

While visiting the underground world of mines and adits, breweries, steam engine houses, forges and factories you will see unique machines and equipment - real technological gems. Visitors, irrespective of age, may meet "live" the industrial tradition of Silesia by means of interesting outings, multimedia presentations and events organised at the sites of historic objects.

Each of the designated facilities has an information board, in three language versions, presenting a brief description and practical instructions essential to each tourist. The website features extensive information about particular historic facilities, their location, accessibility and outing suggestions. For the convenience of tourists we have also prepared a brochure as a guide along the Route. It is available at the sites of industrial monuments and also at tourist information points in the region.
